My love for all things mechanical extends into my personal life as well!

I was on the UCSB Cycling Team for all 4 years and still ride today, though much slower than before. The aerobic exercise is great, I enjoy working on my bike, and there are few things more thrilling in life than blasting down a well-paved mountain descent. I've always thought a good descent is an intricate dance between man, machine, and mountain.

I've loved cars ever since I was a kid. I enjoy working on my car, performing maintenance and light modifications: oil, suspension, and other stuff you can do with hand tools and a jack. I drive stick, which is great in the canyons but not as great in heavy traffic.

I had the privilege of driving a track-spec Lamborghini Gallardo for 5 laps around a track in Las Vegas. It was one of the most physically intense experiences of my life - respect to F1 drivers!

I enjoy rock climbing, though I don't climb outdoors as much as I'd like. I like how climbing feels like physical problem solving and rewards coordination and body control. Additionally, carrying around all the gear to set up toprope anchors and rappels is super fun and makes me feel really adventurous!

My other hobbies include hiking, longboarding, playing the bass guitar, and playing video games.
