Longboard Foot Stop
I designed a foot stop for my longboard to prevent my foot from sliding off the front of the board.
Foot stops are commonly found on longboards for downhill and pumping disciplines, and serve to keep your foot fixed in a consistent location on the deck. Commercial foot stops are mounted using the truck bolts, but this wouldn't work for my deck due to the angle of the nose and the distance between the front truck and where I wanted to place my foot.
I designed this foot stop to compensate for the nose angle, cover the distance between the mounting bolts and my desired foot position, and also offer some adjustment to accommodate the angle of my foot. I submitted the files to a 3D printing service to be made in MJF Nylon. I prefer 3D printing using SLS or MJF because the prints are stronger and have a smoother surface finish compared to FDM prints, and are not much more expensive.
